Microsoft Azure is on the leading edge of the cloud computing revolution. How much do you know about the Azure basics?

Two things worthy of note intersect in the topic of this article. The first is the mass migration to cloud everything that has fueled the meteoric growth of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and competing cloud service providers. The second is Microsoft's migration from traditional certifications to role-based credentials that focus on specific job roles.

These two things have combined to make Microsoft's Azure cloud computing platform a hot technology to be certified in. How well do you know the basics of cloud computing and Azure? What follows is a self-test of 25 questions that address general Azure concepts and topics where aspiring Azure technologists should have a high degree of fluency.

Next month, this will be followed up with a second set more focused on the Azure Fundamentals exam. In all cases, pick the best answer(s) to each question. An answer key is posted at the end of the questions. Good luck!
