CompTIA Strata IT Technology Exam Now Available Worldwide

CompTIA Strata, a certificate program that provides individuals with a broad introduction to technology, is now available worldwide, CompTIA, a leading provider of vendor-neutral skills certifications for the world’s information technology (IT) workforce, announced.
The CompTIA Strata IT Technology exam measures an individual’s knowledge of basic IT terminology and technology. Examples of skills covered by the exam include setting up a basic PC workstation; installing software; identifying compatibility issues; and recognizing and preventing basic security risks.
“With the basic understanding of PC and networking fundamentals covered by this exam, CompTIA Strata is relevant to a wide range of audiences,” said Terry Erdle, senior vice president of skills certifications at CompTIA.
“Students looking to gauge their aptitude and interest for IT; prospective employees seeking to demonstrate that they’re ready to enter the IT workforce; or individuals looking to boost their tech savvy all will find value in earning the CompTIA Strata certificate,” Erdle added.
Topics covered in the CompTIA Strata IT Technology exam include:
• Technology and computer hardware basics.
• Compatibility issues and common errors.
• Software installation and functions.
• Security risks and prevention.
• Green IT and preventative maintenance.
The CompTIA Strata IT Technology exam (FC0-U41) is a 60-minute test that includes 70 questions. A passing score of 70 percent or higher is required. Individuals who pass the exam will receive the CompTIA Strata certificate of completion.
Exams are delivered at Pearson VUE and Prometric testing centers around the world. The exam is priced at $79 for CompTIA members and $99 for non-members.
