Leading information technology (IT) companies are signing up to sponsor the CompTIA Educational Foundation’s third annual Creating Futures Charity Golf Classic. The event to be held Aug. 3, in conjunction with CompTIA Breakaway 2009 in Las Vegas, allows IT leaders to have hours of one-on-one time with their key partners.
Sponsors can invite their partners to play golf at the Rio Secco Golf Club, one of America’s top courses. Top sponsors also receive a golf clinic with Celebrity Golf Pro and CBS Television Analyst Ian Baker-Finch during the event. Already Xerox, Pearson VUE, Prometric, Ingram Micro, InFocus, Autotask and AXZO Press have signed up to sponsor the Creating Futures Charity Golf Classic.
“Not only do sponsors gain key face time with their partners, but their participation demonstrates their commitment to the future of the IT industry,” said John Venator, president and CEO of CompTIA Educational Foundation. “These sponsors are helping our military veterans and others achieve rewarding life-long IT careers.”
Proceeds from the charity event will benefit the Foundation’s Creating Futures program that provides training and certification opportunities to populations who have historically been underrepresented in the IT workforce, including U.S. veterans, individuals with disabilities, women, minorities, at-risk youth and dislocated workers. Creating Futures works with employers to identify their hiring needs, then tailors its training to help individuals obtain the skills employers require.
Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. Beyond meeting their philanthropic goals and receiving tax benefits, event sponsors reap extra exposure to CompTIA members, Breakaway attendees and the media through the CompTIA Educational Foundation’s pre-show and on-site marketing of the event.
