(ISC)2 Honors Top Security Professionals at RSA
Back Published 2009-04-27(ISC)2, a not-for-profit global provider of educating and certifying information security professionals throughout their careers, honored several individuals with awards during its 20th anniversary member reception held on April 22, in conjunction with the RSA Conference in San Francisco. Among those honored were:
- Sandra M. Lambert, CISSP-ISSMP, CISA, with the 2008 Harold F. Tipton Award
- Randolph N. Sanovic, CISSP-ISSAP, ISSMP, with the 2008 James R. Wade (ISC) Service Award
- Benjamin H. Gaddy Jr., CISSP, CSSLP, SSCP, CISM, with the 2009 James R. Wade (ISC) Service Award
- Howard A. Schmidt, CISSP, CISM (hon), with the Fellow of (ISC)2
- Dr. Whitfield Diffie, with the Fellow of (ISC)2
Harold F. Tipton Award
The annual (ISC) Harold F. Tipton Award recognizes an individual's lifelong contributions to the improvement of the information security field and profession. The award's namesake, Hal Tipton, is a security industry pioneer and (ISC) co-founder.
James R. Wade (ISC) Service Award
The annual James R. Wade (ISC) Service Award, established last year, recognizes volunteers who have made a sustained and valuable contribution to (ISC)2. Any volunteer can be nominated by an (ISC)2 member or by the (ISC)2 Board of Directors' Awards Committee. The award's namesake was instrumental in making (ISC) the organization it is today through his active and tireless volunteerism.
Fellow of (ISC)2
The Fellow of (ISC) was established to honor and distinguish a select number of elite information security professionals who have made outstanding contributions throughout their careers to the information security profession. Candidates are nominated by a sitting or former member of the (ISC)2 Board of Directors, Fellow of (ISC)2 or (ISC)2 Harold F. Tipton Award winner, with the final selection determined by the Board of Directors.
