Cisco Releases Security Quick Learning Modules
BackBy Daniel Margolis, Associate Editor —
Cisco has released five Security Quick Learning Modules (QLMs), which provide access to information and instruction on product configuration. The QLMs are free and available online.
QLM 1 teaches how to use the Packet Tracer Feature on the Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) to trace a packet during its life span, which enables verification of an applied policy and aids troubleshooting on network issues.
QLM 2 teaches securing VoIP applications using inspection features of the SIP, SCCP, H.323, MGCP and RTP protocols provided by the ASA.
QLM 3 teaches configuring the L2TP/IPSEC feature on the ASA.
QLM 4 teaches functionalities of the Cisco ASA 5505 as an Easy VPN Hardware Client and how to configure the same via the Cisco ASDM.
QLM 5 teaches set-up for different vLANs in the Cisco ASA 5505, as well as configuring features of the Cisco ASA 5505 such as dynamic DNS and DHCP relay.
“We discovered we could decrease the amount of time it takes us to get learning out by creating very short, specific pieces of learning content that go into very specific areas that have changed whenever we do have major or even minor product updates,” said Christine Yoshida, Cisco learning and development manager. “The impetus was to just put out what’s necessary and the most important thing to know about this new solution.”
