Homeland Security Secretary to Open Forum on National Cybersecurity
BackBy —<strong>Washington — Sept. 12 </strong><br />This half-day forum will focus on key elements of the Cyber Initiative launched early this year by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, along with other cybersecurity efforts. Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff will lead off the forum. Other confirmed speakers include:<br /><br /><ul><li>Melissa Hathaway, Senior Adviser for the Director of National Intelligence and Cyber Coordination Executive, Office of the Director of National Intelligence</li><li>Robert Jamison, Under Secretary for National Protection and Programs, Department of Homeland Security</li><li>Neill Sciarrone, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Cybersecurity and Information Sharing Policy, Homeland Security Council, The White House</li><li>Valerie Abend, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Critical Infrastructure Protection and Compliance Policy, Department of Treasury</li><li>Chris Painter, Special Adviser to the Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division, Department of Justice</li></ul><br />The event — to take place at the Reagan Building & International Trade Center on Sept. 15 — will include a keynote address by Chertoff, as well as panel discussions on the National Cyber Security Initiative and on that will look at public-private partnerships and other key cybersecurity efforts.<br />
