Quotit Earns ISO 9001:2000 Certification
BackBy —<p><strong>Irvine, Calif. </strong><br />Quotit Corp., a division of The Word & Brown Cos., announced its quality management system has been certified as compliant with the International Standard (ISO) 9001:2000. </p><p>The certification represents a milestone in the company’s quality history and reflects a long-standing commitment to code quality, data security, network availability and customer satisfaction.</p><p>“We’re thrilled,” said David Smithson, president and founder of Quotit, an expert in technology for the health insurance and employee benefits industry. “We work hard to ensure the quality of our work, integrity of our data and the strength of our relationships with customers. This proves we’re doing our job well.” <br /> <br />ISO is a global organization with membership from a variety of countries. It has developed about 17,000 standards on several subjects including agriculture, transportation and communication technologies. ISO standards ensure manufacturers and businesses adhere to desirable characteristics in their products and services, such as quality, environmental friendliness, safety, reliability, interchangeability and efficiency. </p><p>About 1,100 new ISO standards are published every year. The purpose of the standards is to safeguard consumers, facilitate trade and share technological advances, among other things. <br /> <br />As a registered ISO 9001:2000 company, Quotit’s quality management systems have passed a rigorous third-party audit. Quotit’s audit was conducted by Bureau Veritas, an international inspection, verification, testing and certification company. <br /> <br />“We’re a company committed to continually improving our internal processes and delivering the best solutions, value and reliability to our customers,” Smithson said.<br /> <br />Quotit, whose nationwide network includes more than 120 insurance carriers representing more than 11,300 plans in the health, life, dental and vision insurance markets, is implementing an online “scorecard” to follow up on its ISO 9001:2000 status. The scorecard will let customers know where the company stands on meeting regular quality assurance goals, including network availability, data and code accuracy and customer satisfaction.<br /> <br />“We care about our customers,” Smithson said. “And that shows in every element of our work.”<br /></p>
